Hello friends & fellow bloggers! So our vacuum officially hit the dust, not without many resuscitation efforts on my part. I've actually kept better care of this appliance than most others in our home, because when it comes right down to it I'd rather vacuum than basically any other chore. I'm not sure if it's the instant gratification of going from unclean to clean or what, but regardless I try not to analyze the few chores I don't mind doing as much. So I come to you for advice. What vacuum has worked best for you? Given you the least amount of trouble? Isn't as heavy as moving a car? Also doesn't cost $500, not exactly in the budget, though I'm sure the Dyson vacs work the best since they cost the most right?? ;) So . . . any advice to offer me as I begin the search, even if it's just what to avoid it would be helpful. I'm all about word of mouth especially when it means less time for me to "figure it out" & hope I like it! Thanks & happy Friday!

Just get the cheapest one possible, then get a Rainbow when money is more abundant.
I have a Dyson...we got it with the new house and it is one of my favorite things (if I had a favorite list, like Oprah) it would be on it!!! Totally worth it, but totally expensive. What I personally did was after thanksgiving Target had their Dysons on sale, so like $100 off, THEN gave a $150 target gift card with purchse (so because we shop at target and could spend that on diapers in one visit) we figurered it was worth it and got it for I THINK $150. It is awesome....
...BUT our little Dirt Devil (Cheapo) lasted us a good 5 years AND we still have it and use for the rugs outside...so any cheap one is good too...just not great...ha ha ha
LOL
Hey girl how's it going? Laughed at this post. I too love vacuuming. For some reason, even if there are toys all over the floor, if I can see those vacuum lines-it feels clean. We have an Oreck and I have loved it. We got a deal because it was a floor model. We are coming to Newport soon and would love to see you!
Hi. I saw your blog on Mark's sisters. I knew the Trasks from Ontario. We've had a Dirt Devil Dual 2 Reaction and I've loved it. I think it's about $250, not as much as a Dyson.
My personal fave is the Hoover, I really like the bagless because I can just empty it into the trash. Of course, so can my children. (They just tend to use the floor instead of the actual trash can). Plus the Hoover models have, in my experience been somewhat affordable. Good luck in the vacuum quest.
Didn't know their were so many vacuum experts did you. I just struggle with spelling it right. We owned an electrolux for years (at one time it was THE vacuum...the olden days) Well it died and would cost a few hundred to repair. So we bought a cheap one(40.00) at Wal Mart and decided that we could enjoy about 5 new ones through the years for the price of repairing our "Good" one. That's my 2 cents worth of advice.
